Work meetings, without losing the details
Keep a recording of a permitted planning meeting or team discussion while you take your own notes. Follow the live transcript, then fold the panel away while recording continues. Replay the discussion before writing your recap; Memory Notch does not generate meeting minutes or action items.
Client calls with the context intact
Revisit a client’s explanation, feedback, or requested changes instead of relying on a hurried note. Microphone and Mac audio capture can keep both sides of an online call. Get permission before recording, and check your organization’s rules for client information before storing or sharing the files.
One-on-ones and handovers you can revisit
With everyone’s agreement, record a colleague walking you through a process or a manager explaining priorities. Return to the audio as you work through the task. Use approved workplace systems for sensitive personnel discussions; local storage alone does not make every conversation appropriate to record.
Interviews where you can listen first
For a permitted customer or research interview, spend less time trying to type every sentence. Check quotes against the original recording afterwards. Numbered speaker labels help distinguish turns, but they are not verified identities and can be wrong.
Project reviews with a record of the reasoning
Keep the discussion behind a design change, technical choice, or delivery plan. Optional screen recording can preserve the on-screen walkthrough alongside the audio. Name recordings by project and date, search titles and metadata in the library, and write your own decisions and next steps after checking the source.

Before your next session
- Check your organization’s recording and data-handling policies, and get participants’ permission before starting.
- Test your microphone and Mac audio. Grant Screen Recording permission for system audio, keep the display awake, and use headphones to reduce duplicate audio.
- Name the recording clearly, verify important details against the audio, and keep or share the files only through approved workplace tools.
Good questions
Does a meeting bot join the call?
No. Memory Notch captures audio on your Mac rather than joining as a meeting participant. It does not announce the recording to other people for you; explain what you intend to record and get permission first.
Will the trial record a whole meeting?
Trial recordings stop and save at five minutes. A US$49 one-time licence removes the recording-length limit on covered versions and includes one year of updates. It is not a free meeting recorder.
Does it send summaries to Slack or update our CRM?
No. Memory Notch provides recording, transcription, playback, and a local library. There are no automatic summaries, action-item extraction, Slack or CRM integrations, or shared team workspace. You can copy the transcript or open the files in tools your organization permits.
Can my whole team share one licence?
The standard licence covers up to five personal Macs, not five colleagues or a shared team account. Each person needs their own licence for longer recordings. Contact hello@xyspace.dev with purchasing questions.
Is local recording enough for confidential work?
Recording and transcription stay on-device, but you still need to follow your organization’s policies for approved software, access, retention, backups, and sharing. Memory Notch does not provide centralized team administration. Other apps or sync services you use with the files have their own data handling.
